Astha Remittance

Last updated 3 September 2026

Astha Remittance is a money transfer service. This page says exactly what we hold about you, why we hold it, who else sees it, and how to have it removed.

What we collect

When you open an account: your name, email address, mobile number, country and nationality.

For identity checks, which the law requires of a money service: your date of birth, a photograph of your identity document and a selfie.

Your transfers: the amount, the fee, the rate, the recipient's details and the date. Your wallet balance.

The recipients you save, and anything you write to support or in the group channel.

A notification token for your phone, so we can tell you when a transfer moves.

What we don't collect

We never read your location. The country on your account is the one you typed, not one taken from your phone. We never read your contacts, your messages, your call log, your photo library or the other apps on your phone.

Your PIN and your password

Your password is held by Google Firebase Authentication in hashed form and is never written into our database. Your transaction PIN is stored only as a one-way hash — we cannot read it back, and neither can anyone who obtains the database.

Who else sees it

Google Firebase — the login, the database and the notifications.

Google Firebase Storage — your identity document, selfie and other pictures you upload are stored there.

Brevo — sends our emails. It receives your email address and the message, nothing else.

We do not sell your information and we do not send it to advertisers.

On your own phone

Your language choice, and your login details in encrypted form so the PIN screen can unlock the app. Balances and transfers are never stored for offline use.

How long we keep it

Your transfer records and the result of your identity check are kept for as long as the law requires a money business to keep them, even after you delete your account. Everything else is removed when you ask.

Deleting your account

You can ask us to delete your account from inside the app, under Profile, or from the page linked below. Both do the same thing.

How to delete your account

Security

Everything travels over an encrypted connection and the app refuses any certificate the phone's owner installed themselves. The app locks itself after a few minutes and asks for your PIN or your fingerprint, and it hides your balances in the phone's app switcher.

Children

This service is for adults. We do not knowingly open accounts for anyone under 18.

Changes to this page

If what we hold changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
